TOWING A DECK BARGE FROM NYC
TUG SHENANDOAH

July - August, 2006 - Page 2

The Shenandoah ran down to Weeks Yard in Jersey and took the Weeks 297 back up to Troy, NY with the Ben Elliot in July 2006. In August we brought the barge down to Ravena where a bridge destined for the Harlem River was rolled on to the barge. The barge was 275 ft long by 60 ft wide and had 15 ft sides. When we took her down to Ravena she had been ballasted down and made ready for the bridge roll-on.

Once the bridge was on, we spun the barge back along the shore and secured it until its transit down river.
