TOWING SCRAP METAL

In 2008, I ran the Herbert Brake, a 1,000
hp pushboat, in NY Harbor. We went to various scrap yards around
the city bringing them empty
barges and taking the loaded ones back to Claremont Terminal for offloading. |

Nosing up to the loaded barge. We
put one line between the barges, turn the loaded one loose and
push the light one in to place. Once the light one is secured we
make up to the loaded one and head out
