Tie off pilings at the top of the old MRGO. A surge barrier is being constructed across the Gulf Outlet to protect the 9th Ward and NOLA from storm surges. It cuts off a useful waterway though when the Industrial Canal lock is down. You used to be able to run east on the GIWW, turn down the MRGO, cross Breton Sound and enter the Mississippi through Baptiste Collette.
