Rigs and dredge working off of Georges Island. The pipeline was laid in a trench from Weymouth out to Georges Island, where the rigs did a bit of directional drilling and sent the pipeline under Georges Island and the Narrows to a trench again in Black Rock Channel off of Lovell's Island. The rock under Georges is granite and they went through many cutter heads drilling the hole for the pipe to pass through |
