EMPLOYEE CONDUCT AND STANDARDS


Intracoastal Transportation, Inc strives to provide a working environment where employees are fairly treated, feel safe, and can work without unnecessary distraction from other employees or from the outside. Intracoastal Transportation, Inc expects employees to conduct themselves in accordance with high standards of business conduct. Employees who do not comply with the expected standards of conduct may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Based on the nature of the conduct, disciplinary action may be initiated up to and including immediate termination of employment with or without prior notice.
Engaging in any behavior that is unethical, dishonest, reckless, damaging or disruptive to the conduct of business, or any other unacceptable act, as determined by the company, is prohibited. Prohibited conduct may include, but is not limited to:
Personal Conduct


1. Fighting or using obscene, abusive, threatening language or gestures directed toward another individual, or engaging in conduct, even in play, which may affect the safety of others while on Intracoastal Transportation, Inc premises or during a Intracoastal Transportation, Inc-sponsored or paid activity.
2. Harassment of any kind.
3. Removing or transferring Intracoastal Transportation, Inc property without written authorization from the responsible manager where such authorization is required.
4. Stealing or damaging the property of coworkers, clients, customers, or Intracoastal Transportation, Inc.
5. Failing to maintain the confidentiality of confidential information belonging to Intracoastal Transportation, Inc or its customers, clients or partners.
6. Engaging in excessive or unauthorized personal use of Intracoastal Transportation, Inc’s resources, including, but not limited to, telephone, fax machines, copy machines, computers, e-mail, office supplies, and Internet connections.
7. Running or managing a personal business during work hours or on Intracoastal Transportation, Inc premises.
8. Being tardy or absent, failing to comply with absence call-in rules, or being absent from work for three consecutive days without notifying the immediate manager or the Human Resources Department.


Safety


1. Engaging in any safety violations that endanger the individual employee, coworkers, clients or customers.
2. Failing to use safety devices provided or to adhere to safety regulations and procedures including:
• Failing to wear company-provided safety equipment as a shield against hazards.
• Smoking in an area not designated as a smoking area by Intracoastal Transportation, Inc.
• Using equipment, machines or material without authorization.
• Using motor vehicles and/or vessels in an unsafe manner on Intracoastal Transportation, Inc property or on Intracoastal Transportation, Inc business
3. Performing any unsafe act on Intracoastal Transportation, Inc premises (including parking lots) or while engaged in Intracoastal Transportation, Inc-sponsored or paid activities.


Security


1. Unauthorized access, use or disclosure of: (i) confidential information of Intracoastal Transportation, Inc; or (ii) confidential information of third parties which Intracoastal Transportation, Inc is obligated to protect; or (iii) confidential information of third parties, including, but not limited to, former employers, which the employee has an obligation to protect.
2. Unauthorized access to the e-mail or computer files of other employees.
3. Use of Intracoastal Transportation, Inc computer systems or access to or use of the Internet through Intracoastal Transportation, Inc in a manner which is illegal, unethical or disrupts or interferes with the business operations of Intracoastal Transportation, Inc or third parties.
4. Use of Intracoastal Transportation, Inc computer systems or access to or use of the Internet through Intracoastal Transportation, Inc in creating, receiving, sending or storing data that may reasonably be considered to be offensive, defamatory, obscene or harassing.
5. Unauthorized access to or use of restricted areas at Intracoastal Transportation, Inc.
6. Assisting anyone in 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 above.


Solicitation and Posting


1. Soliciting or accepting gratuities from customers or clients in violation of Intracoastal Transportation, Inc's gift policy as stated in Code of Business Ethics.
2. Distributing pamphlets, leaflets, literature or any other communications including e-mail on behalf of or against any social, political, religious, fraternal or other organization at Intracoastal Transportation, Inc during an employee's working time. Posting information on Intracoastal Transportation, Inc bulletin boards or other Intracoastal Transportation, Inc property without prior authorization by Human Resources.


The list presented in this policy statement, including the Code of Business Ethics, is not all inclusive. Engaging in any behavior that is unethical, dishonest, reckless, damaging or disruptive to the conduct of business, or any other generally unacceptable behavior as determined by the company may affect the status of your Intracoastal Transportation, Inc employment and may result in discipline up to and including termination of employment. The list of prohibited conduct, including but not limited to personal conduct, safety, security and solicitation and posting, does not alter the at-will nature of your employment. Either you or Intracoastal Transportation, Inc can terminate the employment relationship without cause or notice, without any reason, and in the absence of employee misconduct.
