ANTI-HARASSMENT POLICY



Intracoastal Transportation, Inc strives to provide a work environment free from harassment in all forms including sexual harassment and discrimination based on race, religion, national origin, age, gender, sex, sexual orientation, or disability.


Harassment (Generally defined)
Harassment, in general, is unwelcome/unwanted, offensive behavior expressed by an employee(s) toward another which may include such conduct as slurs, jokes intimidation or any other verbal or physical attack upon a person based on race, religion, age, gender, disability, national origin, sex, sexual orientation or the performance of sexual favors as a condition of an employee's employment status.


Sexual Harassment
Sexual harassment is unwanted sexual advances, or visual, verbal, or physical conduct of a sexual nature. It includes all forms of offensive behavior, including gender-based harassment of a person of the same sex as the harasser. The following is a partial list of conduct that may constitute sexual harassment:
• unwanted sexual advances,
• offering employment benefits in exchange for sexual favors,
• making or threatening reprisals after a negative response to a request for sexual favors,
• visual conduct: leering, making sexual gestures, displaying of sexually suggestive objects or pictures, cartoons or posters,
• verbal conduct: making or using derogatory comments, epithets, slurs, and jokes,
• verbal abuse of a sexual nature, graphic verbal commentaries about an individual's body, sexually degrading words used to describe an individual, suggestive or obscene letters, notes, or invitations
• physical conduct: touching, impeding or blocking movements
• conduct that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment.


Sexual harassment is not to be tolerated in the workplace nor in other work- related settings such as business trips and business-related social events. Harassment of employees by non-employees such as customers, service providers, temporary employees, or independent contractors is not to be tolerated. In addition, Intracoastal Transportation, Inc does not tolerate harassment of non-employees including customers, service providers, temporary employees, or independent contractors by its employees.


Any employee found to have harassed or otherwise discriminated against another employee or individual with a business relationship with Intracoastal Transportation, Inc is subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Retaliation against an employee who reports alleged harassment or discrimination because of a prohibited reason will not be tolerated. Any employee found to have retaliated against an individual reporting such harassment or discrimination is subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.


Any employee who believes he or she has been subjected to harassment because of race, religion, age, national origin, disability, sex, sexual orientation, or to sexual harassment, as defined above, should notify his or her manager or a Human Resource Manager or Director.
Any member of management who has reason to believe that an employee has been the victim of harassment or who receives a report of alleged harassment/discrimination must contact a Human Resource Manager or Director immediately. A representative of Human Resources will promptly undertake a confidential, impartial investigation. Any remedial action will be taken as necessary.
